Evenflow Crowd Radar Debuts at MCO (VIDEO)
EvenFlow Crowd Radar is a new solution from Synect that empowers people to make healthy choices in public spaces. Built with Synect’s ReadySeeGo® digital signage solution, Evenflow delivers intuitive visual indicators of crowding and capacity to help people socially distance.
This world-first spatial awareness system was officially launched at the Orlando International Airport (MCO) today. During a press conference at the airport, Phil Brown, CEO of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) and Yahav Ran, CEO of Synect, met with key members of the press to discuss the pilot program, which launched just in time for the holiday travel season.
“While we are encouraged by increasing passenger traffic, we know the responsibility to maintain our guests’ well-being increases as well,” Mr. Brown said. “This new system will hopefully help passengers make informed decisions and reduce the anxiety that accompanies travel during these challenging times.”
Synect built ReadySeeGo® in collaboration with a team of leading behavioral scientists to influence viewer behavior and create a safer environment for passengers, employees, and the public. Synect also worked with technology partner The Indoor Lab to deliver high-resolution Lidar-based tracking, which is then transferred in real time to the light signal and map display. This provides on-premise passengers with helpful information, and it enables the science team to analyze of the system’s efficiency and the effect on passenger behavior.
The spatial awareness system also equips the airport with powerful insight into key metrics like social distancing, cleaning activity, and more. A preliminary implementation in November saw a drastic reduction of social distancing breaches even as Thanksgiving drove higher passenger traffic.
“Evenflow Crowd Radar uses behavioral science to make the airport safer for passengers, employees, and the public,” Yahav Ran, CEO of Synect, said. “We’re proud to be working with the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority and a team of leading scientists to demonstrate how visual communication drives compliance and promotes healthier passenger behavior.”
